What style of photography do you do?
We offer a bright, natural and relaxed photography style with a mix of creative, traditional portraits and fly on the wall photography to capture your big day.
We’re perfect for down to earth couples, who just want to enjoy their big day. 95% of our coverage is spent capturing photos in an unstaged documentary style. We love those natural moments that happen and (imo) they make the most memorable shots!
Do you have packages and how much do they cost?
We offer sensible and fair prices. We have a few packages to help you with the booking process. Although those can be altered to fit your schedule for the day. Head here for a list of our current packages or drop us a message with your requirements/schedule and we’ll give you a custom quote.
How do I get my photos?
Photos are delivered digitally and you’ll get a link to a high-resolution private photo gallery.
Private galleries are hosted in our Client Area. You’ll get your own password protected gallery to view online or share with friends and family.
USB upgrades are available on request if you prefer a more traditional physical product 🙂 These range from basic Sandisk USB sticks up to deluxe presentation boxes and personalised USBs. Depending on your preference.
Due to the large amount of photos and high-quality files USB is recommended for full-day bookings to save you downloading large quantities of files.
Do you watermark images?
No. Your final images will come without watermarks. All images on your gallery will also come without any watermarks or copyright restrictions etc.
We only use watermarks for our own website and social media for branding purposes, but are currently phasing them out in favour of no watermarks.
What if I don’t need prep photos?
Getting ready (aka prep) photography is entirely optional. Some couples prefer just to have coverage start from guest arrival. This allows more time for evening coverage.
Can we set up a meeting with you?
Contact us to arrange a chat with our photographer. No obligation to book, we’ll just here to help you decide what is best to capture for your big day. Consultation appointments are available via FaceTime or at our Gateshead office.
Please note we are usually covering events on weekends but we’re usually able to offer weekday evening meetings or Sundays, get in touch to check our availability.
Meetings take about 30 minutes and are a fab way of finding out if our style and approach is a good fit for your wedding.
Who took the photos on your site?
All photos were taken and edited by our photographer Graeme. Graeme covers all photo duties for BSC. However, we do have additional staff (Matthew and David) who cover video for us.
We believe that our style is a big part of why clients choose us. So everything is edited by our own team to ensure consistency and high standards.
How many photos will you take?
No limit on the number of photos taken. As we specialise in documentary style it is a lot of photos and great value for money. Typically we will edit and deliver around 1000-1500 photos for a full-day booking.
Do you charge for printing rights?
No. Printing rights are included free of charge with all packages and you are welcome to make your own photobooks/prints.
Do you charge for travel?
There are no travel costs for weddings in the Tyne and Wear/Northumberland area. Costs might be applicable for events outside Tyne and Wear. Please let us know the address of your venue when you contact us and we will give you an exact quote before the big day.
Can we go to a different location for photos?
Yes! We’re happy to leave the venue and go get some photos at a different location. Jesmond Dene is and Newcastle Quayside are both popular options but if there’s somewhere special you have in mind we’d love to photograph you there. It doesn’t take too long we’ll shoot at the location fast and get you back to the party.
How long does it take to get my images back?
Your photographer will send you a few selected preview photos within a week of your wedding.
We aim to have photos returned to the customer within 50 days or less. Please note times might be longer during peak periods (Summer May to Sept) but we’ll keep you up to date and send previews every step of the way.
We prefer to edit photos while the event is still fresh in our memory. Please note our photographer Graeme will edit each photo individually to ensure quality, this process is time consuming but is a big part of our service. We aim to deliver the best images we can. We don’t outsource editing <3
Can I get the photos in black and white too?
Yes, you’ll get a full set of digital images in black and white too at no extra cost.
Have you worked at my venue before?
One of our favourite things is actually getting to photo in a venue where I’ve never shot before, those are so much more fun and I love exploring the creative opportunities that new locations bring! That said we have experience in a variety of venues and can work in both dark ambient lighting, super-bright outdoor ceremonies or in-between. Our equipment allows us to confidently shoot in all lighting situations.

Can I see more of your work?
Yes of course 🙂 We have tons of private galleries you can view, which will give you a good idea of our coverage throughout a full day. We also have extended printed portfolio material should you wish to meet in person and view the. They always look more stunning in print 🙂
Is this your full-time job?
Yes, since 2019 we are now full-time wedding photographers! We started back in 2012 but fell in love with the wedding world and took the decision to concentrate on weddings and family events. Have to say it is the best job ever and we love what we do!!
Do you do your own editing?
All of our photos are edited by your photographer, we do not outsource or bulk process images. We are meticulous with our images. This hands-on service is factored into our package prices. One full day wedding is typically 4 days of editing. This means that we have a smaller capacity for the number of bookings we can take on in any given month. This ensures every booking gets the best possible service and end results.
On a typical 10 hour wedding day, we’ll capture roughly in the range of 2000 to 4000 photos, these are all checked for quality and any duplicate or similar-looking images, people blinking etc, will be culled, leaving only the best shots to give your wedding photos the most impact.
What kind of editing do you do?
Professional image processing and retouching are included as standard. We offer a very subtle retouching service where each image is optimised for print quality. No garish editing, no logos/watermarks just classy timeless images. Our editing style is bright, warm and joyful. No dark and moody editing unless specifically requested (this style looks great on a screen but they tend to look dark and flat on print) our bright photos pop and dazzle in print!
Do you do wedding fairs?
We do typically two or three wedding fairs per year in the Newcastle area. Keep an eye on our FB page or Blog for news on those. Although since 2020 we’re now mostly online due to restrictions and high demand (we are currently working 6 days per week, so spare time is limited). However, our office is available for private consultations on request, which we much prefer as we can chat without interruptions 🙂
How many photographers will be there?
We believe one photographer is the best way to capture your day, without being too distracting for you and your guests.
What level of Insurance and Public Liability do you have?
For your peace of mind, we are fully insured and have public liability insurance for up to £5 million. This can be a prerequisite for higher-end venues and public venues.
Can we book a test shoot?
Yes 🙂 We offer test shoots locally in the Tyneside area. Test shoots last one hour and cost £200.
This gives you a chance to meet your photographer and also ask any questions you might have. Locations available Newcastle’s Quayside, Tynemouth, South Shields near Little Haven Hotel or Jesmond Dene.
Do you do destination weddings?
We cover Northeast England mainly. Due to current travel restrictions, we are not able to offer destination weddings until at least 2022. Contact us with your requirements for a quote.

Do you require a deposit?
A deposit is required to secure your booking date. With the final balance being due one week before the big day.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Pay via bank transfer/standing order etc using your unique reference.
