Well, what can i say about this one? To be honest I'm fairly speechless,. It was simply, incredible. I'm writing this two weeks after the wedding so I have had a little time to reflect. A very long story short, and somewhat of a confession. I had a bit of a 'mare on this day, nothing seemed to work how wanted it to, I was late (okay it was not my fault and I was only 5-10 minutes late, so not really a problem but if you know me then you know that's not how I roll!). I feel like I slammed into this wedding sideways and it left me a bit off-kilter. In my head I was flailing, nothing gelled and I just wasn't getting anything I liked.
That's the funny thing about headspace as a wedding photographer. Although all may look calm and under control, the brain is constantly grinding looking for moments and light, just hoping they all collide into something magical.
On this day, my brain was not present, be it sunstroke, overworked or just plain old lost my mojo. I was struggling. Or at least I thought I was! All I remember was having a great time regardless, and I think that is what makes these photos. My insecurities took a back seat as I embraced the energy of these amazing people and their amazing guests. I let my instinct take over and switched my brain to autopilot mode.
Even after 12 years of doing weddings you never really know what you've got until you view them the day after. Safe to say I was relieved, happy, emotional and ecstatic when I reviewed these photos. There's already one of these photos printed and framed in my studio, I love it that much 😍
My first trip to Hexham Winter Gardens didn't disappoint. Such a unique venue with that incredible light in the glasshouse 🙌
I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking. Whatever was going on in my head on this day was purely fictional. I can't stop tearing up looking at these. Such a beautiful day 🥹
